作為一名空間攝影師,我始終相信,好的影像從來不只是完成任務。它更像是一扇窗,讓觀者透過鏡頭,看見空間背後的故事與設計的脈絡,甚至能感受到設計師與使用者之間的情感投射。

我的工作,是讓空間說話。

因為我知道,一張照片如果沒有情緒、缺乏故事,就算再清晰完整,最終還是會被遺忘。

 
 
  • As a photographer, I’ve always felt that a good image is never just about getting the job done. It is more like a window that invites people to see the story behind the space, the ideas that shaped it, and sometimes even the emotional exchange between the designer and those who inhabit it.

    My job is to let the space speak. Without emotion or a sense of story, even the sharpest photo will eventually be forgotten.

一張照片的特別感,不只是靠漂亮構圖


在需要大量影像敘事的時代,完美早已不是難事,但「感覺對不對」才是影像會不會留下來的關鍵。那些構圖完整、畫面平衡的作品,往往很穩定、很安全,但我也常想,如果能多一些空間自身的呼吸感,會不會更能陳述故事?

就像一顆外觀正常的速食漢堡,看起來沒問題,吃進嘴裡卻感覺不到溫度與記憶。

 
 
  • In an age where images are everywhere and perfection is easy to achieve, what truly matters is whether an image feels right. That feeling is what makes a photograph linger in your mind.

    Perfect framing and balanced composition may be technically correct and visually safe. But I often wonder if leaving a little more room for the space to breathe might allow its story to emerge more clearly.

    It is a bit like a fast-food burger that looks fine on the outside. It may fill you up, but without warmth or memory, it never stays with you.

影像的前奏:傾聽設計師說的話


因此,我拍攝的第一步,從來不是觀察,而是傾聽。我習慣在進場前先和設計師對談,讓他們告訴我這個空間的故事、設計選擇的邏輯、甚至施作過程中的取捨。這段前期溝通,其實會直接影響我後續的拍攝邏輯。

設計師是想強調動線的呼吸感?還是某個材質上的轉換?是希望空間是輕盈的、還是沉靜的?這些東西都不是畫面上會自動跳出來的訊息,但卻會成為我之後判斷「該從哪裡開始拍、該怎麼講這個空間故事」的重要基準。

 
 
  • For me, the first step in photographing a space is not observation. It is listening.

    Before I begin any shoot, I make it a point to sit down with the designer. I ask them to walk me through the story of the space—the thinking behind each decision, the trade-offs made along the way, the intentions embedded in the process. These early conversations shape the way I approach the shoot more than anything else.

    Is the designer trying to highlight the flow of movement? A shift in material? A sense of lightness, or a quiet stillness? These are not things that reveal themselves automatically in the frame. But they guide how I decide where to begin, and how to tell the story of the space through my lens.

拍攝之前,先讓情緒找到畫面


我也會讓自己在進場拍攝前,先有「感受式準備」。如果有時候我沒有直接的情感經驗來投射,就會用其他方式輔助。例如,會聽某一段音樂,或是腦中搭配一部電影的場景,讓空間的節奏跟我內在的情緒對應起來。

這不只是想像力的鍛鍊,而是一種讓身體和心理預先進入空間氛圍的方式。

空間不是一開始就會說話的,你需要時間與它溝通。我會花時間在現場走動、等待光的移動、感受材質如何因光產生變化,直到某一刻我覺得「可以了」,才會按下快門。

 
 
  • I also give myself time for what I call emotional preparation before I start shooting. If I do not have a direct emotional connection to the space, I find other ways to tune in. Sometimes I listen to a piece of music or recall a scene from a film. It helps me align the feeling of the space with what I carry inside.

    This is not just about imagination. It is a way for both my body and mind to step into the atmosphere of the space.

    Spaces do not speak right away. You need time to listen. I walk through the site slowly, watching how the light moves, noticing how materials respond to it. I wait for the moment when something clicks, when the space feels ready. Only then do I press the shutter.

光影、構圖與色調,是說話的語氣


攝影技術誰都可以學,但幫空間說話的方式是攝影師最私密的表達。我常透過鏡頭的轉換,改變空間給人的溫度;或者利用光線方向、光源色溫的控制,去營造出符合我想像的氛圍。這些選擇都不是隨意的,而是建立在我對整個空間與背景故事的了解。

例如,如果我想讓觀者感受到一種放鬆的狀態,那我會選擇偏暖的自然光、柔一點的色調,構圖也會留一些留白。反之,如果我想凸顯空間裡的秩序與線性,那我可能會用較硬的光線與幾何構圖,把「節奏感」拉得更清楚。

 
 
  • Anyone can learn photography as a technique. But the way a photographer gives voice to a space is deeply personal.

    I often use shifts in perspective to adjust the emotional tone of a space. I also work with the direction and color temperature of light to shape the atmosphere I want to convey. These choices are never random. They come from a close understanding of the space and the story behind it.

    For instance, if I want the viewer to feel a sense of ease, I might choose warm natural light, soften the tones, and leave some negative space in the composition. On the other hand, if I want to emphasize order and geometry, I may lean into sharper light and more structured framing to bring that rhythm into focus.

畫面之外,影像該傳遞的是空間語氣


影像不是平面訊息的堆疊,而是感覺的轉譯。如果照片只是漂亮,那它只完成了「欣賞」的功能;但如果照片能夠打開觀者感官,讓人想像自己走進這個空間,想在那個沙發上坐一下,或摸摸那塊木頭,那它才是有情緒畫面。

攝影師在這裡不是在創造空間,而是幫助設計裡的感受被看見。我們把那些原本只存在於現場的情緒、語氣、脈絡,用影像留下來。

 
 
  • An image is not just a collection of visual information. It is a translation of feeling.

    If a photo is simply beautiful, it fulfils the function of being admired. But if it stirs the senses, if it makes you imagine stepping into the room, sitting on that sofa, or reaching out to touch the wood, then it becomes something more. It becomes a frame with emotion.

    As photographers, we do not create the space. What we do is help its feelings become visible. We capture what was once only present on site. The emotion, the tone, the context. We leave it behind in the form of an image.

你想讓空間留下什麼樣的聲音?


影像會留下什麼,取決於攝影師進入空間時帶著什麼樣的感知。如果只是為了交件,那照片有很大的可能會平淡無奇;但如果你相信「影像可以說話」,那拍攝的每一個選擇——角度、光線、留白、色調——都會是你說話的語氣。

 
 

我總是提醒自己,與其追求畫面說得完整,不如讓它說得真誠。因為空間有它自己的語言,而攝影師該做的,是讓那個聲音被聽見。


 
 
  • What an image captures depends on the awareness the photographer brings into the space.

    If the goal is just to deliver a final file, the result may feel ordinary. But if you believe that an image can speak, then every choice you make, from the angle and the light to the space you leave and the tone you set, becomes part of how you speak.

    I always remind myself that it is not about making the image say everything. It is about letting it speak honestly. Every space already has a language. The photographer's role is to help that voice be heard.
