「在石頭、木頭與自然間,尋回生活的停泊」懷特設計將接待大廳描繪為湖邊小屋,守候每一次啟程與歸返

Named Qingtang after the nearby lake, the project was envisioned as a retreat by the water. White Interior Design drew on natural elements such as stone, wood, and water as a shared vocabulary throughout the space. The palette reflects the muted tones of the lakeshore, with soft greys, warm beige, and pale wood. All vivid color was stripped away to create a calm and grounded atmosphere. The ceiling features a herringbone wood pattern that gently echoes the sloped roofline of a lakeside cabin.
At the heart of the entrance, the reception counter anchors the space with quiet strength. Built from hand-laid marble slabs, it recalls the raw texture of boulders found in a mountain stream. Both rugged and refined, the piece evokes a stone resting in water. It offers a sense of stillness and a quiet invitation to pause.

The lobby features an open layout, where flooring and furniture subtly define each zone. In the bar area, grey and beige tiles spread across the floor like a woven rug, gently suggesting a space for gathering and interaction. Sofas and reading chairs remain flexible, able to turn toward the landscape framed by floor-to-ceiling windows or into the warmth of the bar. The layout encourages fluidity, balancing openness with a quiet sense of intimacy.
A large structural column once stood awkwardly in the center of the communal area. The design team softened its presence by carving a recessed curve into its form, transforming it into a fireplace-like feature. This intervention eased its visual weight while introducing warmth into the otherwise restrained space.
The most striking focal point is the social bar zone. Shaped like the hull of a boat, the curved bar invites shared moments and conversation. Behind it, a sequence of steps and illuminated panels creates a layered visual depth, subtly guiding the gaze toward a more contemplative area. Overhead, ripple-effect lighting simulates the movement of water, casting gentle reflections across the ceiling. As guests settle at the bar, soft light spreads through the space, shaping an atmosphere that feels both intimate and quietly ceremonial.

Beyond the lobby, a display wall made from staggered mosaic tiles evokes abstracted river stones, rich with texture and rhythm. Its curved surface softens the geometry of the space, dissolving sharp angles while adding warmth and approachability. The sculpted form helps reduce the emotional distance often created by colder, more formal interiors.

Inside the enclosed screening room, the atmosphere shifts. A curved ceiling and wooden acoustic panels create a cocoon-like enclosure, pulling visitors into a space of calm and focus. The walls resemble stone shaped by water, while dimmed lighting and circular LED strips add a quiet technological clarity. The result is an immersive setting designed entirely for film viewing.
In contrast to the social openness of the lobby, this is a place for retreat. It invites stillness, attention, and introspection—a quiet counterpoint to the shared rhythms outside.

The design draws from the language of the lake, holding stillness while reflecting a quiet longing beneath the surface of daily life. Stone suggests presence. Wood grain carries breath. Light and shadow trace the passage of time. Through these elements, the lobby becomes a soft resting point within the everyday. Guests and residents pause at the reception like stones held gently by water. At the bar, layered lighting shimmers like stars reflected on the lake. In the screening room, the cave-like enclosure gathers the mind inward and still.
