PINS Studio 以大地色調、玻璃磚與溫潤木質，層疊在柔霧般光影裡沉靜的居所：Mellow Symphony

普魯斯特在《追憶似水年華》中曾寫道：「真正的發現之旅不在於尋找新風景,而在於擁有新的眼光」("Le véritable voyage de découverte ne consiste pas à chercher de nouveaux paysages, mais à avoir de nouveaux yeux.”)。或許這也道出了我們渴望度假的真正原因——為了暫時卸下平時的慣性，重新感知生活。當我們不再被時間追趕，感官便甦醒。陽光灑落時，注意到它在牆面上移動的軌跡；肌膚觸碰棉麻時，摩擦粗糙的質地變得清晰可感；就連呼吸似乎也慢了下來。

然而這樣的時刻總是稍縱即逝。一回到日常，敏銳的感知彷彿消失，只能短暫存於被標記為「度假」的時空。

這棟位於馬來西亞蒲種的三層宅邸，試圖打破這個界線。負責設計規劃的 PINS Design Studio 設計師 Eric Ooi，將度假般的感官體驗，精心織入居住者的生活肌理。他以暖調的色彩、天然的材質作為室內基底，引入柔和的光影鬆弛一室。於是這個家，宛如一座溫柔島嶼，迎接人們的歸返。

Marcel Proust once wrote in In Search of Lost Time: "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." Perhaps this articulates the true reason we crave vacations. We seek to temporarily shed the inertia of routine and re-perceive life. When we are no longer chased by the clock, our senses reawaken. We notice the trajectory of sunlight moving across a wall; the friction of cotton and linen against the skin becomes distinct; even our breathing seems to slow down.
Yet, such moments are often fleeting. Upon returning to the daily grind, that acute sensitivity vanishes, preserved only briefly in a timeslot labeled "vacation."
This three-story residence in Puchong, Malaysia, attempts to dissolve this boundary. Eric Ooi of Pins Design has meticulously woven a vacation-like sensory experience into the very fabric of daily living. Using warm tones and natural materials as a canvas, he introduces soft light and shadow to relax the space. The result is a home that functions as a gentle island, always ready to welcome the traveler’s return.

住屋以米、駝色、淺褐等醇厚的大地色系塗料與溫潤木料包覆，呼應其命名《Mellow Symphony(暖光和鳴)》，設計師運用不同的元素層層疊合，譜寫一首和諧且溫暖，緩慢展開的樂章。

一樓公領域是這場交響樂的序曲，展現「實」與「透」、「剛」與「柔」的微妙辯證。沉穩的大理石檯面以俐落的線條劃出空間的秩序，與鬆軟的布藝沙發形成對比；而木質櫃體及玻璃磚地台的組合，顯現溫暖與通透並存的樣態。光線穿過晶瑩的玻璃磚，暈染出朦朧的疊影，演繹著一份現代卻不失溫度的優雅。那些原本只在度假擁有的悠然感受，在此轉化為恆常。

A Composition of Earth Tones
True to its name, "Mellow Symphony," the residence is enveloped in rich earth tones—beige, camel, and light brown—complemented by warm timber. The designer layers these elements to compose a harmonious, slow-moving musical arrangement.
The ground floor public area serves as the overture to this symphony, presenting a subtle dialectic between the solid and the permeable, the rigid and the soft. Steady marble countertops use clean lines to establish spatial order, contrasting with the plush softness of fabric sofas. Meanwhile, the combination of wooden cabinetry and glass block platforms demonstrates a coexistence of warmth and transparency. Light filters through the crystalline glass blocks, creating hazy, overlapping silhouettes and interpreting an elegance that is modern yet deeply inviting. The leisurely feelings usually reserved for holidays are here transformed into a constant state of being.

緊鄰客廳的餐區，放置一張大膽運用斜紋拼接的木頭長桌。表面木紋的深淺交錯彷彿大地肌理，恰好與編織餐椅的質樸手工感相互契合。粗獷的量體感不僅穩住空間氣場，也讓這份溫暖延伸成可觸摸、可依靠的穩實存在，讓人不自覺想圍坐在此，停留話家常

Tactile Dining and Hidden Functions
Adjacent to the living room, the dining area features a statement long table defined by bold, diagonally spliced wood. The interlacing depths of the wood grain mimic the texture of the earth itself, fitting perfectly with the rustic, handmade quality of the woven dining chairs. this rugged volume anchors the space, extending that visual warmth into a tactile, reliable presence that invites family members to gather and linger in conversation.

而在玄關通往樓梯之間的區域，一道滑門巧妙地將機能繁複的廚房隱於其後。經由精心的櫃體安排與空間應用，廚房用品和電器被精確地收整在有限的空間內。沉穩的花崗岩檯面與後擋板，和諧地融入整體暖調，即便在功能性優先的廚房，溫度依然流動。這份隱藏的用心，讓生活的瑣碎退居幕後，外部空間依舊純粹，而保有那份度假般的寧靜愜意。

In the transition zone between the foyer and the staircase, a sliding door cleverly conceals the complex functionality of the kitchen. Through meticulous cabinetry arrangement, appliances and utensils are precisely organized within a finite footprint. Even here, distinct granite countertops and backsplashes blend harmoniously into the overall warm palette. By prioritizing aesthetics alongside function, the visual noise of daily chores recedes backstage, ensuring the external living spaces remain pure, retaining that serene, vacation-like ease.

拾級而上，空間氛圍隨之轉換，由對外的交際轉向個人內在的沉潛與探尋。二樓轉角處被釋放為一處製造餘裕的緩衝地帶。輕鬆無拘的休憩角落，像是在公共與私密之間留下一個停頓的中場。開放式層架上陳列著生活軌跡。當唱機裡的旋律流淌，倚坐在單椅上回顧過往，一段自我調整的留白時刻就此展開。

The Interlude: A Buffer for the Soul
Ascending the stairs, the atmosphere shifts from social interaction to internal introspection. The corner of the second floor has been liberated as a buffer zone designed to create "margin" in life. This relaxed lounge corner acts as a pause—an interlude between the public and private realms. Open shelves display traces of the residents' lives. With a melody flowing from the record player, one can recline in a lounge chair and look back on the past, allowing a moment of white space for self-adjustment.

靜謐的規劃脈絡，自然延伸至寢居空間。主臥室延續暖系極簡的主軸，開放式衣櫃不設門片，讓日常的衣物也成為室內風景的一部分。減去多餘裝飾的寢區，憑真實而柔軟的材質觸感，使人被舒適的環境氣息與織品給全然環抱。孩子們的房間則有更多個性的表達，在維持整體調性的同時，也保有屬於赤子之心的獨特視角。

Sanctuaries of Softness
This quiet design narrative extends naturally into the sleeping quarters. The master bedroom continues the theme of warm minimalism. An open-concept wardrobe eliminates doors, allowing daily attire to become part of the interior landscape. The sleeping area is stripped of superfluous decoration, relying instead on the honest, soft touch of materials to cocoon the inhabitants in comfort. The children's rooms allow for more expression of personality, maintaining the overall tonal harmony while preserving the unique perspective of a youthful spirit.

凝望這間被溫柔氣息所包裹的寓所，我們深刻感受到，「度假的鬆放氛圍」如何被轉化為永恆的居心地。當空間有了溫度，生活便有了層次的厚度；我們並不一定要遠行才能獲得必要的療癒，貼近心靈的靠岸處，亦即是最理想的遠方。

Gazing at this residence wrapped in a gentle atmosphere, one deeply understands how a "vacation state of mind" can be transformed into a permanent habitat. When a space possesses warmth, life gains depth and texture. We do not necessarily need to travel far to find healing; the shore that sits closest to the soul is, in fact, the ideal destination.
